Dr Cephas T.A. Tushima

SOCIAL ISSUES: A THEOLOGY OF GENEROSITY AND JUSTICE

Cephas Tushima is Professor of Biblical Hermeneutics at ECWA Theological Seminary, in Jos (Nigeria).

He has written on social issues, especially in the Old Testament context. He is the author of « The Fate of Saul’s Progeny in the Reign of David » and « Integrity Matters: Men of Honour in the Public Square. »

Dr Nicholas Aroney

THEOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVES ON LAW, POLITICS AND CONSTITUTIONALISM

Nicholas Aroney is Professor of Constitutional Law at The University of Queensland (Australia).

He is a Fellow of the Centre for Public, International and Comparative Law, a Research Fellow of Emmanuel College at The University of Queensland. He is the author of many articles and boos, among which « Freedom of Speech in the Constitution, » and « The Constitution of a Federal Commonwealth: The making and meaning of the Australian Constitution. »

Dr David O'Hara

BEYOND SUSTAINABILITY

David O’Hara is professor of Philosophy, Classics, and Environmental Studies at Augustana University. He also serves there as Director of Sustainability

His interest focuses on philosophy and the how humans live in God’s world. He has written books and articles on fish, forest, insects, and sustainability.

Dr Marinus de Jong

REFORMED THEOLOGY AND THE COMMON GOOD

Marinus de Jong is the pastor of Oosterparkkerk in Amsterdam and research fellow at the Neo-Calvinism Research Institute in Kampen, The Netherlands.

He has written his PhD thesis on Klaas Schilder’s public theology, « The Church is the Means, the World is the End » defended at Kampen Theological University.

He is co-editor of The Schilder Reader: The Essential Theological Writings (Forthcoming 2022).

Dr Yannick Imbert

THEORIES OF PUBLIC THEOLOGY

Yannick Imbert is the Academic Dean and professor of Apologetics at Faculté Jean Calvin.

He has written several books on apologetics, including « Croire, expliquer, vivre, » « Le repos des pèlerins, » and « Le charme de l’andréide. » He is co-host the cultural apologetics blog Visio Mundus.

INTERDISCIPLINARY SEMINARS

These seminars are designed to encourage students to think outside the field of theology, and to reflect on the manner they will develop their public voice in our society. These seminars are offered as webinars.

Among the speakers are Czech economist Tomáš Sedláček, theologian and writer David Robertson, as well as other experts in their fields.

ThM Thesis

The ThM in Public Theology includes a final written project. The second semester is dedicated to this dissertation, which can be written on any subject relating to public theology.

The thesis will be supervised by faculty members of Faculté Jean Calvin and be written according to the standards of a European university’s Master (ThM) level.
